The NSW Government have just announced an amazing new initiative to encourage people to train to become a swimming instructor. AUSTSWIM, our national aquatics licensing body, are now offering free Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TWS) courses through the Smart and Skilled NSW targeted funding scheme.
The past couple of years have brought their fair share of challenges for us all, to say the least! But the long lock downs of 2020 and 2021 are behind us now, and I'm proud to say that Splashed! Swim School has held on strong. Through hard work and persistence, we have maintained our position as the number one boutique swim school on the Northern Beaches.
On the same weekend that Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the path out of lockdown, Mother Nature turned up the heat and gave us the first taste of Summer 2021.
As we know, the COVID-19 lockdown has been extended. COVID-19 is spreading fast: 77 new cases yesterday in NSW and Premier Berejiklian estimates 100+ tomorrow. Stay safe, stay at home. Splashed! remains closed until the Stay at Home health order is lifted on Friday 16th July. Subject to any further extension we intend on reopening for Term 3 lessons on Saturday 17th July.
The summer holidays may have been a little different to what you had planned but one thing is for sure, our local community used the beach to maintain their sanity during lockdown. Socially distant of course!
It seems that 2020 keeps on giving as good as it gets, and right up until the bitter end!
